Some company's have large sales force and robust marketing departments. They \have done a great job of helping the wellness industry to understand the importance of body composition. They don't always have your best interest in mind.

If you've never worked in the wellness/weight loss/medical/fitness industry, you just don't have that experience and ability.
Corporate sales teams have strict sales calls goals and sales requirements. This is why you are called several times a week, once speaking with someone from a corporate sales team.
While a corporate sales rep has good knowledge of how their product works, they will struggle to have a grasp of the industry and technology as a whole.
Corporations offer financing options offer low payments over a long time, which seem attractive but aren't in your best interest. Working with someone like SWT can help identify if now is the RIGHT TIME to buy and HOW MUCH you should spend. Some of the claims we hear from competitors involve different technology or patents on technology. Here's the low down. All BIA technology uses the same technology. None of it is different. There are a few things that do separate the technology of the different units/manufacturers:
1. Number of frequencies and the actual kHZ of the frequencies.
Different frequency's penetrate the cellular wall differently so a wide variety is important.
2. Algorithms that determine to the results.
The algorithms are tricky, because you will hear most sales people say their company's algorithms are "better". This should be a red flag. Simply put, algorithms are based on the average person, and there is no such thing as an average person. So while one company's algorithms might be slightly more accurate for an 18 year old obese female, it may be less accurate for a 32 year old body builder.
The bottom line- any unit that is three frequency with a variety of frequencies is going to give you the accuracy you are looking for.
PATENTS
While some manufacturers, will boldy claim they hold patents, the patents are unrelated to the technology itself. The patents relate to a specific shape or placement of an electrode etc...
Now, of course, things are always changing but if you are being told that a company has patents that make a company offer more accurate results. I encourage you to ask more.
Assuming you are looking at a three frequency, clinical grade unit, the two things that should help your decision making process are:
1. How much do you want to spend/can you afford to spend?
2. What results/outputs do you want?
3. What kind of support to you expect?
